Lucerne City Run: Andermatt Responsible team places 20th
The Andermatt Swiss Alps Group was again successfully represented at the Lucerne City Run 2023. The nine runners gave their utmost, such that the Andermatt Responsible team finished in 20th place, an outstanding result.
The members of the Andermatt Responsible team were anxiously watching the dark black clouds and the weather radar as they travelled to Lucerne on Saturday, 29 April 2023: Would they have to set off in pouring rain again like last year? As luck would have it, the weather improved by 5 p.m., and the runners were in good spirits. After being handed their numbers, they headed toward the starting line, ready to make a good showing.
Lively course
The 3.26-kilometre course took runners along the Reuss River and through the lovely Lucerne old town. Crowds lined the route, shouting encouragement to the runners, who were also spurred on by various bands and music groups along the way.
Top showing
The times of the five fastest runners in each group were used for the purpose of scoring. The Andermatt Responsible team came in 20th out of 88 classed company teams.
Convivial conclusion
After the race, the runners met up for a relaxed round of drinks on the pier, followed by an exquisite dinner offered by Andermatt Swiss Alps.
